PRESENTATION POWER
By Louis Di Bianco - President

I'll share an event that burns in my memory. It happened ten years ago. But it could have been last week. It's that clear in my mind.

I was at a sold out speaking engagement for sales people in the Toronto Convention Centre. The speaker was Zig Ziglar. A legend in the business world.

I sat in the audience of a thousand sales professionals and waited. A current of excitement surged through the room. Then - Ziglar hit the stage. I don't recall his first words. But, I'll never forget his energy. He was riveting.

Did he stand at a lectern? Absolutely not! He didn't really stand anywhere. He moved - actually, he prowled - all over the stage.

I was struck by his ability to make me feel that he was having a one-on-one conversation with me. Imagine. He was addressing a thousand people. But he made a personal connection with me. And yes - he connected personally with each individual in that huge hall. Amazing!

Contrast that with the many boring speakers you've heard. You know - the ones who never manage to touch their audience. The ones who drone on and on. The ones who make you feel that they're not talking to anyone in particular. An hour after they speak, you don't remember a thing they've said.

Ten years have passed since I heard Zig Ziglar, but I remember what he talked about. He delivered an inspiring presentation about powerful salesmanship. He persuasively explained how to sell with integrity, how to overcome objections, how to convert "No" to "Yes," and how to become a first-rate closer.

One of that evening's highlights was the moment Ziglar shot to his knees to make a point and held the audience with a powerful stage whisper. Brilliant! Unforgettable!

I'm not suggesting you adopt Ziglar's style. Your goal is to become a presenter, not an imitator. To find your own natural voice, develop your own flare, and strengthen skills you already have but seldom use.

You'll achieve that goal at PRESENTERS. People will listen attentively when you speak. More importantly, they'll remember what you have to say and act on it. The impact on your bottom line can be dramatic.
